Rio Tinto Mining Group continues to deploy DAMM’s TetraFlex®

DAMM has through its valued partner GMG Solutions newly been awarded the contract to supply the TetraFlex® TETRA Infrastructure at the Rio Tinto in Western Australia. With its latest deployment of DAMM's TetraFlex® the Rio Tinto Mining Group continues its successful roll-out of TETRA Solutions.

The first DAMM TetraFlex® solutions were deployed at Rio Tinto back in 2007/08 where the trunked analogue radio systems were replaced in three Rio Tinto Aluminum smelters across Australia and New Zealand with between 300 and 600 users per site. Building on the experienced success the roll-out was followed by further commissioning of a TetraFlex® system at the Rio Tinto Alcan Yarwun Alumina Refinery in North Queensland with 600 users.

Rio Tinto's latest TetraFlex® deployment is to provide a secure and mobile working environment at their Operational Centre (ROC) in Perth, offering seamless communications between the Dispatch Operator, on-site TETRA portables and Rio Tinto's remote mine and rail sites.
