Tamil Nadu Police chooses DAMM for modern control rooms

DAMM won the contract to provide the Tamil Nadu Police in India with TETRA based communication and control room applications through our local partner Consort Digital.

Tamil Nadu, with its capital Chennai, is one of India's 28 states. The Tamil Nadu Police is the fifth largest State Force Police in India with over 87,900 personnel, and covering an area of 130,059 sq km.

Due to the emergence of new cities and increasing population, the Tamil Nadu Police infrastructure needs to be upgraded and expanded to cater to the increased challenges in the environments and policing requirements. The project aims to provide reliable and efficient services for reducing response time of police vehicles to reach emergency sites and provide assistance to public in distress.

With DAMM's TetraFlex® solution the requirements of Tamil Nadu Police for a feature rich, reliable and safe communication system have been fully met. The solution is completely IP-based with distributed architecture that provides the much needed fault tolerance to the communication network.

In addition, DAMM provides comprehensive control room applications such as Dispatcher Workstation and Automatic Location System, which aids the police organization in establishing robust, user friendly and flexible control rooms.

Mr. Per Skovsund, Director of System Business at DAMM comments: "We are happy again to prove the strengths of TetraFlex®, when it comes to high demands on reliability, making TetraFlex® the ideal solution for mission-critical communication needs."

DAMM's Indian partner Consort Digital together with the main contractor, Purple Infotech, will be responsible for supply, installation, integration and commissioning of the entire project. The TETRA radios are supplied by Sepura.
